Sunday, December 17th8:30 am Christmas Cantata / 10:45 am Kids Christmas Program

Headwaters Youth Conference is a newly created, annual student ministry conference that is hosted by EFCB Student Ministries. HYC was created out of a deeper desire from both youth and youth leaders who wanted more than what was currently being offered to teenagers.

Just like the mighty Mississippi River with its long and winding path to the Gulf of Mexico, students are on a similar course. Only, their destination is not an ocean, it's adulthood. As youth ministry leaders, we have the privilege to ride with them on this path. We can prioritize solely enjoyment and comfort and send our students out in a pedal boat, or we can also challenge them in order to help them build a steady vessel. While peddle boats are fun, at the Headwaters Youth Conference we want to equip our students with a steady ship that can weather the storms and trials of life.

We want to go deeper than simple messages that felt more like Christian TED talks; we want Christ-centered, rich messages straight from God’s word that builds up believers in their walk with Jesus and shares the Gospel with the lost students that attend. We want more than just Christian pop songs; we want theologically rich worship songs that bring us before the throne of God. We want to have fun, but we want more than just jokes and free time; we want intentional connections to enrich our fellowship with each other.

We know that you will be bringing students who are mature in their faith, students who have never opened a Bible before, and everything in between. While it is difficult to have everything appeal to all ranges of students, we aim to be a place where students who are already walking with the Lord will leave with a greater sense of what it means to follow him, and those who do not know the Lord will know how they can have a personal relationship with him.

He believes that student ministry is not glorified babysitting. It is setting the foundation for what will hopefully be a lifelong pursuit of following Christ.
