Life Group Questions for the Week of April 20, 2025

1. What part of the Good Friday or Easter service did you find most impactful or helpful to your worship? Was there a particular song, testimony, or Scripture verse that really blessed you?
2. Read John 20:1. Why do you think Mary Magdalene was the first person to the tomb? Do you think God may have wanted it to be her for some particular reason? (Consider Luke 8:1-3)
3. Read John 20:2-7. How do you think you may have reacted to the empty tomb if you were in Mary’s situation? How about Peter and John’s situation?
4. John 20:8 says that John saw and believed. Contrast John’s faith with Thomas’s faith in John 20:29. Do you think that seeing the empty tomb would have been enough for you to believe? Explain.
5. Acts 4:33 says that the apostles continued to testify to Jesus’ resurrection in the years that followed. Would you agree that Jesus’ resurrection proves that He was telling the truth? Explain. If so, telling the truth about what?
6. How might Jesus’ resurrection give us assurance that God the Father accepted Jesus’ payment for sin? (See Acts 2:24 and Romans 4:25)
7. Jesus’ resurrection offers us new life in the present as well as eternal life in the future. How might you explain the difference between these two? (See Romans 6:4-5; 2 Corinthians 5:17; and 1 Corinthians 6:14)
