Life Group Questions for the Week of February 15, 2026

Feb 15, 2026 |

1. It has taken us a year to go from Luke 4:14 to the end of Luke 9 (with a few breaks along the way). What are some things that have stood out to you from this major section of Luke’s Gospel?

2. Read Luke 9:51-58. In what ways do you see the world as inhospitable to Jesus and his gospel? How and when have you experienced “homelessness” as a follower of Jesus in this world?

3. In vv. 54-56, which are you more surprised by, James and John’s call for judgment, or Jesus’ compassion and patience? How can Jesus’ attitude toward an inhospitable world help us to live as his disciples in it?

4. Read Luke 9:59-62. How reasonable were these two “but first” requests? When and how have you been tempted to delay discipleship for the sake of your obligations and attachments? When are you most tempted to say, “Lord, but first...”?

5. Recall The Four Gs of our church’s Discipleship Pathway: GATHER, GROW, GIVE, and GO. Are any of your current obligations or attachments obstructing your discipleship pathway in any of these four areas? What is one next step on the path of discipleship you need to make today?
