Life Group Questions for the Week of February 22, 2026
Feb 22, 2026 |
1. The "If" Factor
In verse 1, Paul lists four things: encouragement in Christ, comfort from His love, fellowship in the Spirit, and tenderness/compassion. Which of these four have you experienced most tangibly in your life recently?
2. Standing Together vs. Hanging Separately
Reflecting on the Benjamin Franklin quote ("We must all hang together, or... hang separately"), why is internal unity so vital for a church's ability to withstand external pressure or conflict? Can a divided church effectively share the Gospel?
3. Motivation for Unity
Paul’s use of "if" actually means "since." If we truly have received these spiritual blessings, why do you think we sometimes struggle to let them motivate our unity with other believers?
4. Defining "Like-Minded"
Referring to verse 2: How do we maintain "one mind" regarding the Gospel while still allowing for diversity in personality and preference?
5. The "Empty Glory" of Conceit
Paul warns against "vain conceit” (empty glory). Today, where "self-promotion" is often encouraged, how can we guard our hearts against seeking "empty glory" within the church?
6. The Counter-Cultural Value of Others
Why is "valuing others above yourself" (v. 3) so radical? What would change in your workplace or family if you practiced this for just one week?
