Life Group Questions for the Week of February 23, 2025

Feb 23, 2025 |

1. Read Luke 5:12-16. Given that there wasn’t yet a cure for leprosy, and that it’s contagious, what do you think life would have been like for this man before he met Jesus? (See Leviticus 13:45-46) Do you think that there are people today who might relate to how this man felt? If so, how do you think we should minister to them?

2. Why do you think it may have been significant that Jesus physically touched this man with leprosy? What might this teach us about how we minister to social outcasts, and those isolated from the Good News?

3. Given all the crowds of people who are coming to hear Jesus’ message and to be healed of their sicknesses, why do you think Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed? How might we apply this to our own faith?

4. Read Luke 5:17-26. Which do you think was easier for Jesus: to say that this man’s sins were forgiven, or to tell him to get up and walk? Explain.

5. In verse 21, the Pharisees remind us that God alone can forgive sins. In verse 24, Jesus says that He wants them to know that He has authority to forgive sins. When we put these two verses together, what options does that leave us?
