1. If you had the opportunity to go back to school, what is one subject that you might like to study that you don’t know much about?

2. Take time to read last week’s passage (Luke 9:28-36) and this week’s (Luke 9:37-43). Other than chronological order (v. 37), why do you think these two scenes appear back to back in our Bibles?

3. How would you describe Jesus’ tone in verse 41? Who do you think he was speaking to and why?

4. Read the following verses: Luke 9:1-2, 38-40; Mark 9:28-29. How do you explain the disciples’ inability on this occasion?

5. What don’t you pray about? What are you confident you can do that you don’t need to take to the Lord in prayer?

6. Read Luke 9:46-50. How can taking our focus off of ourselves, and instead, directing it toward Jesus, help us to (1) redefine greatness and (2) avoid polarization and self-sorting?

7. We’re returning to one 9:30 am Worship Service on March 1st. How do you feel about that? Share with your Life Group your concerns, apprehensions, or excitement about this change. How can taking our focus off ourselves, and instead, directing it toward Jesus help to unite us as a church family?
