Life Group Questions for the Week of March 30, 2025

Mar 30, 2025 |

1. Working together as a Life Group, how many of the Twelve Apostles can you name from memory? After you’ve brainstormed as many names as you can, then read Luke 6:12-16. Which one or two questions might you like to ask these 12 men?

2. When Jesus prayed in verse 12, why do you suppose He went out to a mountainside? And why do you think He prayed all night long? What might this teach us about our own prayer life?

3. How would you define an “apostle” and how would you describe their ministry role? (See Luke 9:1-2) How do you think our ministry role today may be similar or different than theirs?

4. Does the selection of any of these 12 men surprise you? How about Matthew the tax collector, or Judas Iscariot who would later betray Jesus? Anyone else?

5. Pastor Douglas O’Donnell once wrote: “God delighted in, and still delights in, building his church with seemingly insufficient and slightly contorted building materials.” What do you think he meant by this? (See 1 Corinthians 1:26-29)

6. Read Acts 4:13. What might this teach us about our faith, since Jesus’s 12 apostles weren’t particularly rich, noble, educated, or powerful?
