Life Group Questions for the Week of March 9, 2025
Mar 9, 2025 |
1. Read Luke 5:27-32. If you can, share about a time before you found Jesus, when a Christian treated you well.
2. Verse 28 says that Levi left everything and followed Jesus. Why is it important for you and me to count the cost before we leave everything to follow Jesus? (See Luke 14:28-33)
3. Verse 29 says that Jesus and His disciples were eating with Levi’s fellow tax collectors and other acquaintances. What kind of awkwardness do you think there may have been between these people? How might we apply the example of Levi’s banquet to our own lives?
4. In light of today’s text, why might it be good to keep 1 Corinthians 15:33 in mind?
5. In verse 30, the Pharisees complain about these sinners. If we’re honest, can’t most of us think of a time in our own life when we’ve done something similar? Why do you think we sometimes complain this way?
6. What do you think Jesus is getting at in verses 31-32? How does this help us to better understand the gospel and our disciplemaking mandate in Matthew 28:18-20?
7. This week’s message closed with the acronym “BLESS.” What did each letter stand for, and how might you be able to practice one or more of these “bless practices”? Be as specific as possible.
