    1. Like Jesus’ parable, we often turn to stories to illustrate examples of greed. What characters, stories, or films come to mind that depict this attitude well?

    2. Read Luke 12:13-14. Why do you think Jesus warns the crowd to be on guard against the deceitfulness of greed rather than just say, “Don’t be greedy!”?

    3. Read Luke 12:15-21. Where do you think the rich farmer went wrong? When do you think good business sense morphed into greed?

    4. What do you think it means to be “rich toward God”? (v. 21). How is that related to seeking his kingdom? (v. 31).

    5. Read Luke 12:22-28. Where do you see examples in everyday life of God’s good provision? How might these be an antidote to worry?

    6. Read Luke 12:29-34. How would you answer these questions for yourself:

    • Where is my treasure?
    • What does this reveal about my heart?
    • Where does my treasure belong?
