1. How have you helped someone who felt alone feel welcomed? Have you ever felt that you didn’t belong? If you are comfortable sharing about this, please do so, and share how you responded.
2. In Luke 8:41, Jairus came to Jesus and fell at his feet. Why would he risk his position and possibly his wealth to bow at the feet of Jesus? Are there situations in our lives that may prompt us to surrender similarly?
3. In Luke 8:44, the woman with the blood issue touched the cloak of Jesus and was healed. Have you ever been so desperate for something that you did something unconventional? What happened?
4. In Luke 8:45, Jesus stated that someone had touched him. How did he know he had been touched? Why is this significant?
5. Share about an experience where you were expecting something from God, and he didn’t respond the way you thought he should.
6. How might the first 3 steps of the the 12 steps from Celebrate Recovery: 1. admit we are powerless over addiction and compulsive behaviors (sin), 2. come to believe that a power greater than ourselves can restore us to sanity, and 3. make a decision to turn our will and lives over to the care of God, be similar to our discipleship journey?
7. How might we, as church members, find ways to take to heart the one-another verses in our church body?
