Life Group Questions for the Week of November 5, 2023

    Nov 5, 2023 |

    1. What is one of your most memorable cliffhanger moments from a favorite book, TV series, or movie franchise that you can remember? What made it so you couldn’t wait to find out what happened next?

    2. Christian faith doesn’t guarantee that believers will be happier, healthier, or wealthier than the non-believing world. Christians aren’t absolved from suffering. If this is true, in what sense might non-believers “envy” (vv. 11, 15) followers of Jesus? What do we have that might make the non-believing world jealous?

    3. Pastor Eric said, “God’s sovereign grace stands behind his purpose to redeem a people for himself.” How have you seen God’s sovereign grace at work in leading you to faith in Christ?

    4. How can reflecting on God’s sovereign grace (even if we don’t fully understand it) lead us to a greater sense of awe and worship? How might returning to our church’s Statement of Faith help?

    5. What do you think might have led Paul’s Gentile Christian readers to become prideful and arrogant about their inclusion into the redeemed community? How might reverent worship serve as a good antidote?

    6. Why do you think Scripture includes warnings such as Rom. 11:22 (see also 2 Cor. 13:5)? How might these warnings lead a Christian to deeper faith?
