Life Group Questions for the Week of October 5, 2025
Oct 5, 2025 |
1. If you could ask Jesus one question about who he is, what would it be? Would you be asking for understanding, clarification, or something else?
2. Read Luke 7:18-23. Are you surprised by John’s question regarding who Jesus was? How have you navigated questions about Jesus’ identity when they have arisen in your mind?
3. Why do you think Jesus didn’t answer John’s question with a simple “Yes!” and instead told John’s disciples to report what they had seen and heard?
4. Read Luke 7:24-28, then (if you have time) go back and read Luke 3:1-20. In what sense do you think Jesus meant that John was “more than a prophet” (Luke 7:26)?
5. Read Luke 7:29-35. Pastor Eric said that the question, “Who is Jesus?” demands a response. Does it?
6. It would be easy to sneer at the “brats” in Jesus’ parable (vv. 31-35), who showed stubborn resistance to John’s message of repentance and Jesus’s message of grace. Has there ever been a time in your life when you demonstrated stubborn resistance to the gospel? What helped you to respond instead with obedient faith?
