1. What is one of your favorite songs to sing at church? What does that song declare about the glory of God?

2. Our Core Values are: God’s Glory, Biblical Foundation, Congregational Worship, Caring for the Body of Believers, Connecting with the Community, Evangelizing the Lost. Would you agree that the other five values derive their importance from the first, God’s glory? Why or why not?

3. Have someone in your group set a 5-minute timer. Take those 5 minutes to read and reread Psalm 96 without interruption. Quietly consider what this psalm says about God’s glory. When the time is up, share some of your observations with your group.

4. How is the act of singing together in church a way of declaring God’s glory? Why do you think singing is such a prominent part of a church worship service?

5. What does it look like to declare God’s glory among all peoples?

6. What does it sound like when creation praises the creator? (Psa. 96:11-13). What do these verses teach you about God-glorifying worship?

7. Read Psa. 96:7-10 and Rom. 1:18-23. In what ways is idolatry a failure to give God the glory due his name? How do we overcome this failure to glorify God?
