Life Group Questions for the Week of September 14, 2025
Sep 14, 2025 |
1. What ministries are you and yours hoping to be part of this fall, and how did it feel to be back to two services this Sunday?
2. Read Luke 7:1-10. When you hear the word “centurion,” what thoughts or images come to your mind? In what areas of your life do you have authority over or responsibility for others?
3. In verse 4, the elders say, “This man deserves to have you do this.” But in verse 6, the centurion says, “I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.” Who do you think deserves what, and why? How might this be instructive and helpful to our faith?
4. In verses 6-8, how does the centurion compare his own authority with Jesus’ authority? In verse 7, he highlights that Jesus can just “say the word,” and doesn’t even need to come inside the house. How might this be instructive and encouraging to our faith?
5. How do you think both humility and reverence were reflected in the centurion’s faith? Why are both of these important aspects of the kind of faith Jesus commends?
6. In verse 9, Jesus says, “I have not found such great faith even in Israel.” How do you think Luke’s original readers might have reacted to this? How might this be instructive and encouraging to our faith?
7. What is one way that we can be praying for each other this week?
