Sep 15, 2024 |

1. Read Psalm 1:1-3. What is being contrasted here? And what is being predicted for each? (Hint: also see Psalm 1:4-6)

2. What do you think Psalm 1:1 means by “Blessed”? Do you think this is a guarantee that we’ll have a trouble-free life of health and wealth, or something else? Explain.

3. Psalm 1:2 describes someone who is blessed by the LORD. How might delighting and meditating on God’s Word bring us blessing?

4. Psalm 1:3 pictures a tree planted by streams of water. What might this teach us about our own spiritual growth and maturity?

5. A church is an “ekklesia,” meaning it’s a GATHERING of people with a shared belief. How would you explain the difference between chickens gathering in their coop, and Christ-followers gathering in their church? Seriously, what specific things cause our gathering to result in actual spiritual GROWTH and not just a bunch of clucking?

6. Can you think of any examples of how “glorifying God in all of life” has helped you GROW spiritually? (See 1 Cor. 10:31; Eph. 5:18-20)

7. How has God’s Word transformed you, and helped you GROW in spiritual maturity? (See 1 Thessalonians 2:13 and Jeremiah 23:28-29)

8. How has GATHERING with a small group helped you GROW in spiritual maturity?
