Life Group Questions for the Week of September 21, 2025
Sep 21, 2025 |
1. We all can use a little good news once in a while. Share one item of good news from this past week with your Life Group.
2. How would you define “hope”? How would you define “despair”? How are these two feelings related?
3. Review the passage from this past Sunday together (Luke 7:11-17). Was this a familiar story to you? What stood out to you from Jesus’ encounter with a widow whose only son had died?
4. Why do you think Jesus was able to interrupt this funeral and say to the woman, “Don’t cry” without being rude or insensitive? How do you see the Lord’s compassion in this instance?
5. If you’re comfortable, share with your Life Group about a time when you lost hope or felt despair. What did you lose that contributed to these feelings?
6. How has the incarnate Jesus entered into your hopeless situation and despair? What difference does it make to you that Jesus not only looks at your situation with compassion, but he has also entered into our brokenness?
7. Unlike the woman in this story, many of us will not get back something or someone we have lost. How can anchoring our hope to Jesus help us when (not if) we eventually experience hopelessness and despair?
